Our Mission

Since 2008, a residential property on Silver Spruce Drive in Vernon, NJ has been used as the destination for thousands of truck loads of construction debris and uncertified fill. The activities at this property are not permitted by the municipal, county, or state governments.

In January 2019, a group of citizens of Vernon formed PAID (People Against Illegal Dumping) to put an end to the illegal dumping on Silver Spruce, thereby protecting neighbors and potential groundwater contamination.

Our current mission is to support the laws that enforce the regulation of dirt brokers and trucking companies in the illegal dumping of soils, recyclable material, and construction debris. Many of these materials contain contaminants that pose threats to our groundwater.

This is to be accomplished by supporting bills and amendments that are established by local and state government on behalf of Vernon Township.
